FOUNDATION

There are three types of foundations under Liechtenstein law: family, charitable and ecclesiastical foundations. The foundation is becoming more and more an important instrument for settling the succession of the estates of wealthy individuals and families.

The foundation is suitable for estate and inheritance planning and in particular for guaranteeing the maintenance of family members or other close individuals and for charitable purpose.

Registration:

a) Deposit of foundation deed or

 

b) Registration in the Public Register of Liechtenstein

Minimum capital:

CHF 30’000.—

Scope of business:

Non-commercial activities

Organisation:

a) Board of Foundation

 

b) Advisory board optional

 

c) Auditor optional

Beneficiaries:

The beneficiaries are the usufructuaries of the foundation according to the by-law
